The new panorama lift to the Venetian fortress "Bastione" from Riva del Garda went into operation on the first days of July 2020. The opening came after rigorous system checks of this modern Inclined elevator and after the establishment of the same name panoramic lounge restaurant at the arrival station, next to the bastion. Until now, this 16th-century defensive structure could only be reached in half an hour via a steep mule track.
The arrival station is located at a height of 220 meters, with a height difference of 130 meters, on the lower floor of the restaurant, hidden from the panorama square and opposite the tower. After a 2-minute ascent in the panoramic glass cabins, climbers can take the hiking path no. 404 upwards, to "Capanna Santa Barbara" or to the start of "Via dell 'Amicizia" on the Cima SAT (1246 meters) summit to continue this wonderful panoramic tour.
A broad, flat, shady path runs north from Bastione, connecting our ancient settlement of Santa Maria Maddalena with the desecrated church of the 12th century and our stone farmhouse and natural apartments from the 18th century.
The new inclined lift from Riva del Garda takes up the idea of the chairlift built in the 1950s and dismantled in the early 1980s, built on the edge of the Rocchetta mountain and directly below the fortress. The departure station is in an underground building, just a few meters from the "Monte Oro" car park.
